No PS3 price cut for Leipzig
Sony deny plans
With Games Convention 2008 looming over Germany, rumours abound that Sony could cut the price of the PlayStation 3 console. Sony are the only platform holder undertaking a full press conference in Leipzig, however the firm deny any price cut plans.
Sony Computer Entertainment's Nick Caplin told Reuters that the console will definitely not receive a cut at next week's show.
"It’s not going to happen. If you’re coming for that you’ll be disappointed," said the spokesperson.
While Microsoft having introduced a higher-spec 60GB SKU instead of their 20GB model, prompting conjecture that Sony might counter with a cut of their own.
