NPD data sees PS3 top 360
But Ninty win big overall
Official US sales data for July has finally been released by the NPD Group, after over a week of analyst-led conjecture over what the latest results might show.
Its good news for Sony, as the PS3 came out ahead of the Xbox 360, but the resounding victory enjoyed by Nintendo through the Wii and DS consoles is likely to offer the competition plenty of food for thought.
In July, the DS sold nearly 610,000 systems, followed by the Wii on 555,000 units. Third was the PS3 with 225,000, then there's the PSP with 220,000.
The Xbox 360 was fourth with 205,000 sales, followed by the PS2, still in the race on 155,000.
We'll bring you more on this soon.

PS3 is killing Xbox 360 sweet every month, Xbox just seems to not appeal to anyone more it was a tired dated console.
