NCsoft lay-off 21 staff
Tabula Rasa studio hit
NCsoft are unlikely to dissuade the doom-mongers with their latest move, laying-off 21 developers are their Austin development studio.
The Korean MMO specialist has consistently defended Tabula Rasa (made in Austin), stating that Richard Garriott's online action game can still be a success, while the lay-offs will also impact Dungeon Runners too.
That said, rumours had been circulating that the studio would be closed entirely, so perhaps hope persists for these projects, and the Austin facility in general.
"Primarily this is related to products which we have not previously announced and were in prototype phases. We are also cutting some positions on the Dungeon Runners team after deciding not to port the client to other platforms at this time," read a statement from NCsoft's US bosses.
NCsoft is of course home to big successes Lineage I and II, while City of Heroes has also served the firm while Aion will be the company's next release.

personnally i would have fired everyone who had anything to do with TR, I played it and it was wholly unimpressive, I felt it played like a game that should be on a pad with its terrible aiming. PC players have higher standards when it comes to control so maybe this should have been aimed at Xbox players... they like bad controls.
