Scarface 2 killed-off, developers let-go
Universal get rights
A number of other high-profile games in-development including Ghostbusters and The Bourne Conspiracy won't be backed by Activision Blizzard after the completion of VU Games' big-money merger; it now also looks like Scarface 2 has been culled, too.
Variety report that the game was set to be published by VU, and was being developed by Radical, however the rights have now been returned to film studio Universal - who may now look to for another publisher.
An open-world action title, featuring the iconic Scarface, is the order of the day - with more drug empire building and ultra-violence likely to be on the cards.
The magazine notes that Universal are also working on an interactive rendition of Wanted themselves, and could therefore consider publishing Scarface 2 in-house.
Either way, Acti-Blizz are once again not getting involved, while Radical have laid-off 100 developers, despite pushing ahead with Crash and Prototype projects.
