If you've been wondering just what has happened to the impressive looking WipEout HD then you'll be interested to know that Sony are now saying it's been held up by a technical problem.

"There is a specific technical problem with WipEout that we have to solve. I can't go into details but it is a really, really tricky technical problem that no region has been able to solve at the moment," said Sony Europe boss David Reeves when pressed about the title.
He went on to add "I think it will come out before the end of the year but it is something that was just very difficult to get to grips with." which is at least a glimmer of good news for those of us excited by the footage we've seen so far.
