PlayTV dated

And yes, you can record and play games at the same time!

There finally seems to be some more concrete news on the PS3's digital video recorder add-on, PlayTV.

Speaking to Eurogamer SCEE president David Reeves said we can expect a launch in Europe "from September to December" with the UK looking to go live on September 10th.

He was also able to confirm that the system will defiantly let you record TV while playing games "It was very difficult for some of the tech guys but we had to include it in the firmware upgrade, 2.41, but it's done now"

The much anticipated add-on is set to retail at EUR 99 when it's released (we don't know if that will mean an exchange rate ignoring GBP 99 too) and include some exciting features like PSP remote play and the ability to export recordings in standard MPEG-2 files.
