Japanese publisher hopes to regain ground
From the makers of 'that dance mat that first made games okay at parties', we today learn that Guitar Hero and Rock Band will be getting a little competition from Japan.
Konami this morning lift the wraps off Rock Revolution, a guitar and drum-based update on their classic Dance Dance Revolution series. The game is being created for the PS3 and Xbox 360, allowing players bash-out covers of hit rock tracks using unique music instrument peripherals.
A Wii version is also on the way, but it doesn't have any special controllers, from what we can gather. A DS version also treads this path.
More than a little like Rock Band, by the sound of things, Rock Revolution will include a roster of forty tracks including Avril Lavigne. You dirty swine.
Online play is to be included, and there will be various competitive and co-operative game modes on offer. Additionally, players will be able to enter the studio in order to perfect their sound. Man.
