The epic success of new release Monster Hunter 2nd G for the PSP handheld has once again kept Sony's gadget at the top of the Japanese hardware chart, for the week ending April 6th.

The new game has now sold in excess of 1.3 million copies in Japan alone, the PSP itself shifting some 120,964 units for the week in question.

A distant second was the DS handheld with sales of 55,190 for the same period. The Wii was third on 44,618.

In fourth place the PS3 managed 11,303, just pipping the PS2's 10,423.

The Xbox 360 comes in a very distant last with 1,452.
