Valve are plotting the launch of what they're describing as the "largest ever" Team Fortress 2 update, which should be distributed via Steam from today.

A new map for TF2 is included, Badlands, which is a remake of the TFC favourite. Dustbowl, Granary and CTF_Well have also been tweaked to improve performance and gameplay.

A host of general optimisations will also be instated, as part of this update.

Network performance, graphics, and player statistics have received attention, while Source TV has also been improved to better empower spectators watching tournaments and the like.

The update should be rolled out at 7pm this evening. More soon.
