Official: Duke Nukem 3D on XBLA
Miller reveals all
Developer 3D Realms have officially confirmed today what they've been hinting for the last 12 months, namely that Duke Nukem 3D is on the way to the Xbox Live Arcade.
Following in the footsteps of Doom before it, this classic 90s FPS was confirmed by big cheese Scott Miller, speaking to the Dallas Business Journal. Miller revealed the return of Duke with be bolstered by co-operative play, online multiplayer and might be out this very year.
"We're really excited about bringing classic Duke to the 360," the executive beamed. "We're talking to Microsoft about getting a release slot sometime this year."
George Broussard, 3D Realms' other chief, confirmed in 2007 that they were hoping to revive Duke on the 360, and that discussions with Microsoft were underway. It appears now that those discussions were a success.
The FPS was a controversial hit the first time around, the jingoistic wise-cracking Duke titillating FPS mad teens with a game filled with lurid references. Girls, guns, aliens and bad language. Sounds like a night out with Jason.
