Acti hit back in Rock Band PS3 row
Blames Harmonix and MTV for support issues
Activision have hit back at a statement made yesterday by Rock Band developer Harmonix, in which the developer blamed the publisher of rival Guitar Hero III for the lack of a patch allowing GHIII's PS3 guitar controller compatibility with Rock Band on the console. While Harmonix had promised support earlier in Rock Band's development, upon launch it was revealed that the controller was in fact incompatible. The developer alleges that a patch resolving the problem has been blocked by Activision.

Acti, however, have hit back at the notion that all this is there fault and that they are deliberately causing trouble for gamers, suggesting that MTV and Harmonix had failed to accept "Activision's offer to reach an agreement."
"We have been and remain open to discussions with Harmonix and MTV Games/Viacom about the use of our technology in Rock Band. Unfortunately for Rock Band users, in this case Harmonix and MTV Games/Viacom are unwilling to discuss an agreement with Activision," read a statement from the firm to GameSpot, in which Acti assured that their "top priority is to provide consumers with a seamless marriage of best-in-class hardware and software".
Sony, meanwhile, have urged the publishers to seek an "amicable resolution in the best interest of the consumer".
