Midway suffers Wii stock frustration
Games delayed, production disrupted
US publisher Midway today tells UK business site GamesIndustry.biz that their support of the Wii platform via new games has been effected by the console makers inability to increase stock availability, and satiate intense demand for the innovative console. Speaking to investors, Midway revealed that games have been delayed while the publisher await Nintendo stock improvements.

"The demand for Wii product has put a pretty big strain on Nintendo's production capacity, and that has in turn, for us, turned into longer lead times for some of our Wii products," vice president of publishing Miguel Iribarren revealed.
"And that, during the holidays - given product coming out in a short timeframe - has resulted, for us, in reduced ability to get product to shelves."
CEO David Zucker also revealed that early PS3 releases had suffered technical problems, including Stranglehold, but that such issues have now been overcome. More from Midway soon.

What an idiotic excuse. If they developed 'must-buy' games instead of their usual elephant dung they'd sell millions of copies. If even third of all current wii owners bought a game, it would be up there with Halo 3.
Wait, what? They won't improve support until fewer people demand the product? Does that make any sense? What if demand outstripped supply up until 500 million units were sold (unrealistic, but just assume this)? Does this mean they won't improve support for a console with an install base of 400 million?
Okay, being more realistic, it is right up there with the 360, and far greater in sales than the PS3. What are their plans for these two consoles?
