Rockstar Table Tennis will not incorporate online play on the Wii console, the publisher today confirms, the developers instead set to focus on controls with this latest version of the series which began life on the Xbox 360.

"All the focus is going into making it the most advanced control system on the Wii," a spokesperson told CVG.co.uk, no doubt disappointing Wii owners who had hoped the online modes from the Xbox 360 edition might make it to Nintendo's little beastie.

Whether the omission of online play is really anything to do with dedicating extra resources to controls remains open to debate, and given the lack of other third-party online games available on the Wii at present conspiracy theorists are likely to have their own opinions on this.
