Broussard moots Duke Nukem Arcade
Waiting for the okay from Microsoft
Classic first-person shooter Duke Nukem 3D could be heading to the Xbox Live Arcade, with a release pending approval from Microsoft, according to 3D Realms boss George Broussard.
Broussard revealed his desire for the Arcade release to ShackNews, with discussions underway with Microsoft and a team just waiting for the green light to proceed with the conversion.
"Truth be told, we've talked to Microsoft about it and have some people that would port it," the big cheese revealed. "Just waiting on the good word from Microsoft to continue."
DN3D is one of the trailblazers of the first first-person shooter genre, and featured excellent multiplayer fun (remember the White House level, anyone?) as well over the top violence and a tongue-in-cheek approach. Quite where the sequel, Duke Nukem Forever is, remains to be seen.
More soon.
