hello ive been a resident evil fan for about 4 yrs now, and i think that the guy in resident evil 5 is not Chris Redfield but Billy Coen i think that the single hair on his face gave him away.

It isn't Billy moron, where the hell did all of his tattoos go? Think about it, the developers are from RE: 1 and it is a character they "are very fond of." It is probably Chris, even though I'd rather it be Barry (even though it is obviously not Barry).

Dude, that guy looks too young to be Barry Burton (and didn't Barry have a potbelly back in the epilogue of RE3?) and the hair doesn't look like Chris's and I don't think it's Billy either, not only 'coz of the hair, but, as d00dz0rz said, the tattoos are gone. Carlos? The hair's a close match (color at least) and the body build (but it seems almost every guy in RE is muscled) but the skin tone's too light. Who knows? It could be Jill's boyfriend (she has one. It ain't Chris or Carlos. Play RE2 again and have Claire check out Jill's desk). However, I just frickin' hope they'll have Jill up again! I miss her! Oh, see the pattern with the numbered series? The odd numbers (1,3) have Jill in them while the even numbers (2,4) have characters from RE2 (claire, leon) so, with another odd number coming soon (5), I friggin hope Jill's there. She's my role model (FYI: I'm a girl) Go JILL!

well...resident evil 5 is goin to bring back a bunch of characters from the old series... while there is goin to be a special section dedicated to what hapened after code veronica including umbrellas demise and some other cool stuff...
the story is goin to be like s.d. perrys book a game split in different point of views...
im also givin people some secret info: Ada never gave las plagas to Wesker she only gave him a decoy... and Steve Burnside is alive working for wesker...well while he doesnt really know what hapened hes goin to be told that chris(remember he doesnt know who he is) killed claire and hes the sole survivor of this whole massacre...what im expecting is that steve will change sides after he finds out that Claire is alive and that chris is her brother...well there you have...

It looks like Carlos Oliveira the same chin, eyes, nose, hair wave, and ears the only thing that is different is he got his mullet cut and he needs to shave. If you think about it (Resident Evil 3 Nemesis) came out in 1999 and (Resident Evil 5 Horror) is comming out in 2006-2007 so he would be 35 or 36 years old and his profile said he was a bounty hunter from South America and from the look of the pictures and the preview it looks like South America to me.

The main character is a dead ringer for Bruce MacGavin. Same facial features, same hair(just a tad darker).
Also, if you'll notice throughout the games, each main character has 2 games.
Chris - RE/RE:CV
Jill - RE/RE3
Leon- RE2/RE4
Claire- RE2/RE:CV
Rebecca- RE0/RE(kinda stretching with RE though)
So going by this trend, the character would almost have to be Billy or Carlos... UNLESS Dead Aim is in continuity(not sure if they said it was or not) and if so, it's Bruce. They look exactly alike and that would feed into my 2 game per character theory.

I don't think it's Carlos any more I think it's Bruce Mcgivern from Resident Evil Dead Aim they look the same and cloths are not much differint and the thing I notice the most was the Beretta M92 F he has in Dead Aim It looks the same as the one in the Resident Evil 5 trailer the only thing that is differint about him is he got a hair cut.

resident evil series is a great game to play, re5 would be a great game, i don't know who the man is in the pic gallery of re5, but i guess, it would be chris redfield, joining forces with jill valentine, with ada wong, claire redfield, steve burnside, rebecca chambers, leon s. kennedy, wesker, burton, and a bunch of zombies with a tyrant injected with las plagas, these would be a great game, i think, umbrella corp. would have an end here, but wesker would attempt to build it again and again, these are only my ideas in re5, thanks, i love you shonya sumaylo, eugene

Steve does know who Chris was. Claire told him a lot that her brother Chris was coming to save her. But I think that the man in the pictures is Carlos taking care of a supposed outbreak of a virus (new type possibly) with backup in the form of Jill, Chris and Barry (other playable characters maybe). I wonder if there will be a new type of tyrant?

Leon had red hair up until RE4. The developers could very well change the physical attributes of any of their characters from the past games in order to confuse the hell ouy of us. Unfortunately the stubble and generic hairstyle doesn't stand out as anyone in particular to me, except he does look a lot like Bruce Mcgavin. Bruce doesn't feel right though. My gut says it's Carlos.

Actually, the man in Resident Evil 5 has been confimed by Capcom that it is Chris Redfield. Not Billy Coen, not Carlos.
How do I know this? Because my room mate went to Capcon himself, and asked them. A represenative confirmed with him and another video game source has also stated that Capcom has confirmed the character as Chris.

ShadowFox S.T.A.R.S. how would you know that capcom didn't lie to your room mate and why would they tell your room mate that kind of information any way look at it this way if it is Chris in resident evil 5 that will be the 4th different looking Chris in RE 1 he looks like a real person, then in RE CVX he looks different , in RE REMAKE he looks real different so if they do resident evil 5 with Chris Redfield that will be 4 different looking Chris Redfields but i thank you for posting what your room mate said.
